TDMA is dead
TDMA is a 3rd world technology and dead. Although gsm is a variant of tdma, it is quickly being phased out and basestations torn down because it has poor spectral efficiency which is important if you want to add more users.

It really will be a CDMA2000 and WCDMA world until 4G comes of age in 5-8 years from now.
