Crap yes
Internet over power lines is a technology that arrives too late and will make a negligable impact. I'm still not sure how they can do it, since transformers in the system hinder the network. It was shown to work well in Europe, where clusters of houses share a transformer, but in the US the transformer / house ratio is higher - which causes problems.

Unless the utilities go for cut-rate pricing, why go with a company that ONLY provides internet, where SBC and Comcast can offer many more services. Where is the cable TV programming over power-wire?
