Some care
If you can transmit 3 DVDs per second, then on-demand video streaming technology could be introduced. Instead of 3 DVDs per second, how about 10,000,000 simultanious video streams - all providing real-time DVD movies. Of course, HDTV-quality video would require 100x more bandwidth than "regular" TV, so extra bandwidth is always usefull.

I think the MPAA would be interested in this tech, since in the future CONTENT owners will make the money - by providing the streaming video service. You may have an 80-hour TiVO, or a computer-based equivalent (which will need to be upgraded for HDTV), but you still have to schedule the recording, manage the data, and not be able to retain everything you want. If you could just pay 20 bucks a month for a service that lets you play ANY video clip (movie, sports, news, etc.) at ANY time - would you go for it? Hell, wer're paying about 100 bucks a month for cable + internet, and 12 bucks a month for TiVO - and they have all those drawbacks.

So you tell me Ax, does anyone care of not?
