- Roger is right to wonder if we NEED IPv6 only if 'we' refers to Americans. The American consumption of all world's resources is phenominal. They have taken the same attitude to Internet resources so they do not need IPv6. Properly distributed IPv4 would last many more years but no one expects the USA to give up resources for the common good so the sooner IPv6 is generally available the better.
