They are talking, not about
putting an active RFID chip in the phone, but a READER, and a different type of transmitter that will put information that a consumer actively puts into the phone so that they can elect to send it to another reader. Not quite the same thing, though it USES what most people are calling fraction of a cent, "disposable" RFID chips to implement the scheme.

None-the-less, ANYTHING that makes the unwitting and thoughtless think that ANYTHING to do with RFID is attractive should be discouraged.

It is WAY to dangerous to have this stored by anyone, expecially since it will never be allowed for the consumer to verify data, correct errors, purge the data, or control it and its uses in any way.

And, of course, WHEN it is abused, there will be no recourse. The government will NEVER let you sue or remove ALL information when it is abused, and it certainly will be. Look at all the millions of packets of "private" credit card information that has been recently stolen and abused.

It is only a matter of time, and not much of it, at that.
