Potentially dangerous!!
I find it frightening that I find myself agreeing with Ax, so obviously this is a serious issue.

I agree that the Telcos could stop this, if they wanted to, but I am half afraid the would offer it as a service.

There are some, very limited, regs on caller ID that have been issued by the FCC. Obviously the did not anticipate this type of conduct.

There is an interesting legal question of fraudulent conduct. The potential for abuse is too great on this. I agree with Ax that someone will get this or similar software on a P2P server. That would end the value of caller ID, and the telcos would miss that stream of money, quickly.

This is just plain wrong!
