- Place responsibility where it belongs!
- I worked (as a tech) in the telecommunications industry for years and I KNOW how a telco switch works. They had that problem back years ago with blue boxing. They fixed it by closing the caller channel until the connection was completed. Now somehow that channel has been reopened and that is an invitation to fraud. There is no need for restrictive legislation. There IS a need for the telcos to act responsibly and close this thing off before it becomes exploited by criminals and low life. Of course the problem with that approach is that these people, just like the people who run Microsoft, are not responsible people. If they can find a way to make a buck on some exotic feature for business, they will ignore the risks (to their customers of course, not to themselves) and enable the feature. This has all the markings of being the first virus hole in the telco network since the blue box debacle years ago (which was really just a symtom of aging network design). So come on No_Ax, you believe in personal responsibility, how about corporate responsibility?
