...and to create, given competition, benefits for consumers.

Why should I care where Intel builds a factory? I'm better off if it means cheaper processors. So some US engineers/factory line workers have to find jobs elsewhere, perhaps earning a lower wage than if Intel had stayed here. At the same time, Intel is bidding up wages in China. So does it only matter what happens to American workers? Is a Chinese person less of a human being to you? We need to forget this nationalistic bs.
