RE: At FCC, change must be the mantra
Randolph J.May really shows off his neo-liberal economic policies with this piece of sell-out to the telcom industry. While I agree the FCC needs serious reforming. I am not on the path Mr. May follows.

1984 Was an important year not only for readers of George Orwell, but for those following the trial of AT&T in Judge Harold Greens court. Just like Standard Oil in the early part of the 20th century, the Justice Department saw a need to break up the monopoly that was AT&T. I think Judge Green did a fine job. But, his decision has been left in ruins. We are right back where we were 25 years ago: A few telcoms running the show. Not only over the heads of consumers, but with their very powerful lobby, have managed to make a mockery of consumer rights thru their horribly one-sided Telecommunications Act and other decisions made by a politically lopsided FCC. The FCC, like every other regulatory agency needs to remember why they were established: To protect the consumer from corporations. And, that will rebut everything that Mr.May and his telecom buddies wish for.
