Alcatel takes big hit on Lucent assets

Huh?: Geez, I guess you don't spend much time in a carrier central offie environment.

Lucent's strongest assets:

1) Pair gain equipment (SLIC's with integrated DSLAM's)
2) Upgrades to 5ESS to support SIP interfaces
3) MSS
4) Cellular BTS (especially CDMA flavors)
5) Lightwave transmission

Lucent's Intellectual Property portfolio alone is worth billions.

Torque's me off we sold Bell Lab's innovations to a foreign interest.
