Hallelujah!

I don't know the taboos of cel phone usage in other countries, but the people here in the US are downright obnoxious with their use. Just think about trying to read a book, or catch a few ZZZ's on a long flight, and the person right next to you just has to inform a family member in a looonnnnggg conversation, at high volume, of course, details of her recent hemorrhoid operation, and the colorful description of the pus-weeping sore that developed afterwards. (Yes, this actually happened to me, a person at another table in a RESTAURANT of all places!)
The rule is now mostly just helping out the airline crew by not making them have to help remove a small electronic device from a passenger's recently operated-on portion of their bodies.
Until people in this country actually buy some tact, and/or respect other people's right to NOT have to listen to them yell into their permanently affixed electronic appendages, I hope the rule stays for WHATEVER reason they can think up.
