I Couldn't Agree More!
I'm much closer to the "low-income" spectrum of telephone user than "high"; I don't even have a mobile phone, due to the cost.
As one who grew up in the country (aka "rural area") I say let them bear the cost of their own phone service, just like gas, electricity, and water.
I don't get any subsidies for anything, so why should I be expected to pay for somebody else's phone bill?
This is a plan that only Karl Marx could love.
End this Socialist tax on the rest of us hard-working people now, and let the chips fall where they may.
Or, as an alternative, simply prohibit the phone companies from passing-through the cost to their respective customers.
I don't care which.
"From each according to their means, to each according to their needs" - a frightening concept that our government seems to be increasingly buying into...
