Or, how many customers like being let around by the ding-a-ling and told
which applications they can or can not use. Once they get a taste of freedom, you never want to go back to being controlled. For instance, how many PC users would like to be told which applications they can run???

So, Google will force the carriers to open up and compete on quality of service, speed, coverage, etc. If they don't, customers will gravitate to the open carriers and the closed ones will go out of business. That is why the upcoming auction is so important. Google will be willing to pay billions to make sure there are open systems.
