This only works if Google keeps everything open source and does not try to
make proprietary that are proprietary. They MUST make it possible to create phones without ANY reference to Google web applications. They must let others have an equal say in future directions.

But, if they can do all of that, they may create a huge following with end users, carriers, and phone manufacturers.
