Buggy system
Comcast had the buggiest system I ever had the displeasure of using. When we moved from AZ to TN, we went with Comcast. We'd had really good luck and service with Cox, and figured cable was cable. WRONG! We put up with 4 months of the cable being out at least two days a week - not just internet, and consequently phone, but the whole thing. No TV, no broadband, no phone. Nada. When it was up, we never knew what we were going to get for connection speeds. It could be anything from 5kb (shades of 4800 baud) to 6mb, with the majority of the time being much closer to the 5k than the 6m.

After 4 months and 11 in home tech trouble calls, multiple cable replacements, etc., we gave up and went with Bellsouth DSL. It's had a couple of down times, both due to a puppy chewing through wires, but has otherwise been absolutely reliable.

And, here's the kicker. After all that, Comcast didn't disconnect our cable until 3 months after the cancel order was placed. Some goofball showed up at the house saying if we didn't pay right then, he was climbing the pole and disconnecting us. We looked at him incredulously and told him they were supposed to have done it 3 months ago. "Oh."

Now, they've got us in collections over the 3 months worth of bills, and refuse to correct their error, demanding money for services unused.

If Comcast calls, don't answer. It they ring the bell, hide.
