Wi-Fi, 802.11 = WiMax
Why confuse everyone. Wi-Fi 802.11 is WiMax and it obsoletes a lot of technology especially cell phone and computing devices that operate at > 1 Ghz spectrum. The standard will be implemented from sea to shining sea in the USA using the unused wireless broadband TV spectrum unless traitors within succeed in privatizing those airwaves.

With employers freaking about MySpace and Wikipedia updates using employer provided equipment, the USA can not wait any longer.

Free Universal Access to Web 2.0 is a birth right of all US citizens. It is also important for our democracy.

Lets say on this anniversary of Katrina, that you observe police officers cutting telephone wires as has been reported, to control communication. It is likely that your WiMax phone/computer will be able to connect and report that. Or lets say you do see criminal gangs looting (which was apparently not such a big event as reported). You can photo that and WiMax it.

You need help from a physician but are trapped in rubble. Your WiMax phone recieves and transmits through the rubble. The < 1Ghx airwaves are just so important for US citizen well being. Lets call anyone at the FCC helping and the executives at businesses lobbying to privitize the < 1 Ghx spectrum enemies of the USA, for that is what they are.
