WiMax is NOT Microwave ANYMORE!
WiMax is a standard like ANSI and it will be built into every phone and computing device that is to access Web 2.0. Unfortunately for the Europeans, WiMax probably can not be implemented in the < 1Ghz frequency range there because those air waives have not been regulated.

The have not wannabe-like-the-USA Europeans currently seek to privatize the < 1 Ghz spectrum in the USA. This is because that spectrum is much more appropriate for telephony and video and web 2.0.

For Europeans to enjoy what we in test markets in the USA already enjoy via ClearWire and soon will be enjoyed from sea to shining sea will take 100 years to nationalize in Europe.

The USA is about to take advantage of probably the greatest economic engine of all time - even greater than road infrastructure. This FREE UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO WEB 2.0 VIA WIMAX AND THE PUBLICALLY OWNED < 1Ghz SPECTRUM means every US based business and every US visitor and citizen will be able to conduct business, bank, make payments, arrange for medical care, notify authorities of suspicious al Qaida, and pedophile activity at zero transaction cost and in time to make a difference. It is more threatening than Reagon's Star War initiative and is being viewed that way by those that wish the US harm.

Lets not confuse the US market with a definition of WiMax that refers to microwave. WiMax is maximum WiFi. That definition means something and is technically correct.
