No_Mind_to_Speak picks wrong side again...what a surprise!
The broadcasters have monopolized the spectrum long enough, doncha think? FREAKIN' DUH!~

Why is it that dinosaurs like you ALWAYS choose to side with the bullies? WHY IS THAT?!

The sooner they (the feds) get their stinkin' hands out of the game, the sooner the floodgates of innovation will open.

Do you realize that virtually EVERY other 'first world' country is now AHEAD of us in terms of broadcast/video technology?! Do you realize how absurd that is? Do you realize that it is solely due to the 'tinkering' and LACK of action by the FCC that makes this so? Do you know that Japan had HD TV for nearly a full DECADE before we did, solely because of the FCC 'mandate' that it be 'backwards compatible' with existing technology, which they are NOW abandoning anyway with the forced move to digital?!

Do you realize what utter screw-ups the FCC is comprised of? And how it has ALWAYS been a TERRIBLE idea to have our engineers and innovators beholden to political wonks? It's no different than lettting a war be fought according to the dictates of politicos instead of generals.

Ax...why do you even BOTHER to post? You're beyond a joke at this point. Your role as 'comic relief' has been overplayed, ad nauseum.

Over-the-air broadcasters have been relegated to the ranks of the blacksmiths in the advent of the automobile. Keeping the white space in their dead clutches no longer serves the public interest, but only serves to DEPRIVE the public, especially those who live, or would LIKE to live, in rural areas, of the services that are vital in TODAY'S world. Do you even have an inkling of how beneficial it would be for those living on the fringe areas of our country to have comparable FAST access to the internet? Do you understand that the internet IS the next 'delivery platform' for entertainment and information?

No, you don't understand much, but unfortunately (for us) that never stops you from voicing your uninformed opinions.
