Shows what you know...
Every cell company keeps track of where you're at and where you're going. How do you think they know which tower to use to ring your cell? How do you think they charge you for roaming or keep track of network usage for different areas? If you are using any widely available network (i.e. cell phones) I can promise you that your activity is monitored. Most companies sell that information in the form of statistics. The only thing that sets Google apart is that they do it openly.
