Google probably agrees
The NYT is reporting that over 4 billion is required to bid for what I think is the 700 Mhz spectrum which provides universal access today in the form of channels 60 through 68. Google management has agreed to bid for the spectrum on a condition. Their efforts are stalling the bid process and I hope the eventual result will be no bids at all.

My thought is that Google doesn't think anyone should bid for the 700 Mhz spectrum. I think Google management believes as I do that the spectrum belongs to and should remain a property of the US citizenry. It is like the public highway. It is the information super highway.

Can you imagine an auction of the US highway system? This auction of the wireless information superhighway has the same impact.

This is the dot commons, the people's Web 2.0. It can not be auctioned legally to any corporation. Those attempting to do so are in every sense traitors because this spectrum will make the USA the greatest economic power on earth. This is owing to the substantial reduction in translation costs needed for businesses in the USA to deal. Universal access is provided with this spectrum. No other nation on earth has such a potential to dominate and that includes China because China doesn't have the form of democracy needed. That form of democracy allows any one with an idea and will to implement it to rise to become as great as Bill Gates.

Say you have a technique or method and you make a video of it. It is sell able to every US citizen given the universal access that the 700 mhz spectrum allows. Say you want a billboard when folks motor by your establishment guiding them to you. Look at what Amazon has done. Now apply it to the entire US economy.

It is absolutely traitorous to consider selling this dot commons to multi-national corporations. I bet it is unconstitutional since the traditional use of the 700 mhz spectrum has been tied to educating voters. It is fundamental to our democracy. It is not by accident that You Tube did what it did two days ago. We battle for the commons. No one should have to bid and if they do they will eventually lose anyway because patriots recognize this is US citizenry property. It should and will remain NATIONALIZED.
