There are plenty of them

I know of a number of multi-million dollar software development projects that are
being delivered as web applications to replace existing desktop client/server
systems.

The web is becoming the ultimate cross-platform client/server architecture, just as
it was envisioned when Netscape first threatened Microsoft. The iPhone shows how
a truly mobile device can use almost standard web pages without the bulk of a
Newton, notepad or laptop.

I don't think I will ever own an iPhone - it's too expensive and I think the contracts
will be too restrictive - I don't even own an iPod, but Apple is once again showing
the guts and vision to deliver a device that really works, and others will
certainly copy.
