WiMax is ok, but...
its just an interim technology.

I do believe however that the growing ranges of these technologies will soon approach the ability to hit a geo synchronous satellite. If the governments will allow activity in this spectrum, then you will see true disruptive technology.

Imagine, consumers connecting to privately owned satellites, without the need to be tied to local ISP's, without the need for costly cables to be laid, no "last mile" issue, in short, we can completely cut ourselves from local telco's.

I do see big problems ahead for them if they cant stem this. The battle will likely be phrased in terms of "the local guys know the local market". Hogwash.

I cant wait to get a satellite access point, using it for my internet, using skype for my calls, and losing my dependence on a local ISP.

These gouging local telcos days are numbered.
