- Patients were originally supposed to give credit and provide gauranteed..
- source of revenue for the patentee, which should then pay for more innovation by the original patentee. The problem is that innovation is occuring at such a rapid rate that patents are now preventing some types of innovation or customization. Patents should be granted for 3-5 years max and should only be for non-obvious things and not include software. Copyright should be allowed for software and that should take the place of patents on software.
