You wouldn't let anyone into your house to use your land-based DSL line to transmit child porn, and you shouldn't let anyone use your wireless to do it. You wouldn't let someone use your land-based cable connection to set up botnets, you shouldn't leave your wireless open to it. Free Wi-Fi hotspots can still operate; it's unlikely that someone will carry his kiddieporn around on his laptop at all times, that's just too incriminating if it gets confiscated. And WiFi hotspots can use sophisitcated filters to rule out some of the obvious keywords. Free Access to Anyone is a misnomer anyway--ranges are limited, and often access to broadband speeds require a paid upgrade, because--guess what--SOMEONE has to pay for the equipment and service. Taco Bell and Panera will still offer free wifi service, but they may start asking for ID to allow access to it--and if this is a problem, that's a good thing.
