Where is the harm.

I download an image or a video clip over a peer to peer
connection(Lime Wire, Frost Wire for example)and view it. I
didn't take the picture or shoot the film. I simply found it,
much as one might find a discarded magazine and pick it up.
How is this a crime? Who have I injured? How does this break
the peace? If I put the magazine, remember the discarded
magazine I picked up, in a drawer in a cabinet in my house does
that make me a greater threat to the community somehow than
simply viewing and discarding? How is this different from
burning the images or clips to CD? Is this really sufficient
reason for the police to bust down my door in the middle of the
night, haul me off to jail, try me and sentence me to many
years in prison because I hurt...who exactly did I hurt
again??... and how did I hurt them???
