Child Porn is extremely nasty...

But some otherwise decent people get involved in viewing child porn even though they don't produce it.

The law is roughly analogous to the drug laws where users get hooked by drug dealers.

The idea that possession of child porn is harmful to children is illogical and a crock. It is production of child porn that harms children. At best, possession should be a misdemeanor.

All this is based upon my experience of helping to defend a good friend of mine in federal court. He is a decent guy that has never harmed a child, and would never harm a child.

Child porn is the only crime in which you can be prosecuted for looking at something, and that a person can be guilty of, but the law enforcement or expert witnesses that view that same child porn can view with impunity.
