Powerful Lobbyists
Senator Wyden blames the possible demise of a no-tax solution on powerful allies (or lobbyists.) That is unfortunately very far from the truth. The real truth is the demise will come from the powerful apathy-ists.

There's enough citizens out there that constitute a majority of the population using internet whether from home or work. If everyone who uses the internet wrote to each of their duly-elected representatives in state and local governments, you can bet this would never take root.

No matter how powerful a lobby is, ultimately, your vote is worth more than those dollars. Add them all up and start speaking up collectively as a nation and we won't face these problems.

Don't blame the lobbyists. Blame ourselves. That's what I always tell my friends when they complain about taxes, and I ask them and subsequently find out they didn't even vote in the last election.
