I am betting yes. The WSJ and Zdnet were all buzzing today about Adobe and Microsoft competing in this space and now we know for certain. The US can not compete on anything that requires government coordination. Boundless media requires government which means industry has to collaborate to help government select an appropriate standard. That didn't happen in the USA. Now both Microsoft and Adobe will suffer. The USA will follow EU on this just like we did on GSM. This time it will be faster however.
