Obsolete?
Why do you say the WiFi is obsolete? A replacement technology (WiMax?) that will start (notice the "start") to replace WiFi over the next few years, is something that a developing nation, and peoples, cannot afford. So a WiFi network (let's just say a link of 240 miles) which would cost $4,000 - $6,000 to create should not be put in place because they should buy the "newer" technology at $24,000??? I think that you are looking at this as an elitist. Older, but quite serviceable systems can be sent to these developing areas and give (notice the word "give") these people a link into the international world. The low cost of some additional materials to install local wireless networks will give a village the exposure we are talking about that you think should not be given to them. Your type of thinking is what makes our "throw-away" society so disturbing to others.

Now, if I am misunderstanding your meaning here, please correct me.

Also a U.S. Citizen (and more importantly a citizen of the World).
