Finally, a single celluar standard?
WiMax has the potential to unify the world's various
incompatible cellular systems under a single
technology umbrella. The only differences between
countries would be the frequency, billing, and authentication
processes. Conceivably, these differences could be
accounted for by having a removeable radio module, and
a SIM card in every phone

Once they get the radio module small enough, each phone
could just have all the frequencies built-in, and.

Hopefully unlocked phones will not cost much more than
locked versions.
