Smart move on Verizon's part

I mentioned early on I suspected that Verizon was the first approached as they are poised to retake the number 1 spot after dropping to 2nd place (in number of subscribers) after the Cingular/ATT merger.

It looks as though Verizon really doesn't need (nor apparently want) the iPhone for continued growth while Cingular was probally more then happy to pay anything to help keep their customers.

If Cingular was smart they would focus on why customers are leaving (or not signing up at the rates they do with Verizon) instead of relying on the phones to hopefully keep customers enticed.
