Have you actually tried to move from Cingular to T-mobile? Did you bother to call and ask the dealer? I did it. Yes, T-mobile will arrange to have your phone unlocked if you purchased it from Cingular or any other GSM service provide as long as you can change the sim card in your phone. My wife brought her cell phone from Europe and used it here without problems. Once the cell phone is unlocked you may use it on any GSM network as long as it supports the frequency used in your local area.
