How many of those 12-18 year olds...
are actually forking out the money for their phones? I'm betting that number is pretty small. Their parents are buying them, and parents with kids old enough to have their own cell phone (I'd call that 12 and up) are very well acquainted with AT&T. In fact, as you creep into the mid- to late-30s, AT&T has better brand recognition than Cingular. Kids could care less who their provider is, as long as they have cool phones that'll let them download customized ring tones and listen to their mp3s. If you think Cingular is "popular culture", you really need to get out more...
