Give me a break. Cell phones have lulled our culture into a false sense of safety. Whatever happened to "Be Prepared" ?
People are arming their 5 year old children with tracking cell phones in cities. How are these kids ever supposed to grow up with the idea of taking care of themselves and others ?

Cell phone coverage do not make us safer. Anyone driving in a city can tell you that - after many near-misses due to inattention of cell phone users. Cell phones are one tool - a tool that is not universal. The only universal tools any of us have are our abilities to plan and be resourceful under stressful conditions. Sometimes these tools are not enough either.

Saying that cell phone coverage is "needed" is an insult to our pioneer ancestors and all those who choose to be personally responsible for our own and family's welfare whether or not we have cell phone coverage.

Necessities - water, food, basic clothing, fuel, shelter.
