Hell ten years ago the FTC lost any hope of policing the Net for fraud
The FTC is hopelessly overwhelmed by non-internet fraud. They don't have a prayer of stopping online fraud. Hell it takes the FTC years to respond to blatant consumer fraud. All they do is try to pick high profile cases that will get them on the six o'clock news to justify their existence. It isn't that the FTC doesn't care or want to protect consumers, it's the reality that the criminals outnumber the FTC personnel about ten million to one...

And the criminals are laughing all the way to the bank.
