Cisco name/logo change a household name?
I think this was a stupid decision. The new logo sucks - preferred the older one.

If people dont know about Cisco's existence then they are brain-dead and shouldnt be marketed to in the first place.

Your target market is educated - assumably? Then brand awareness should have already been acknowledged. I dont know what kind of focus groups they've been running - perhaps with uneducated, low income demographics, that dont use VoIP, and Wifi anyway. And if they want to build awareness with that kind of crowd - promote linksys instead, they're the people that can afford a $49 router, not a pix501 for $700+. And unless they plan on using distribution channels such as target, and home depot to sell high end equip - the move is a ridiculous one. Can you imagine the waste of changing all the logos on the stationary, and all the packaging, and physical routers/switches, plus marketing materials?
