"Advertising is the only way that carriers can afford to add more content to their services,"
How about adding services that simply work? Customers pay for services that they want...the "Big 4" would do well to innovate some services that are useful to customers, as a revenue stream, rather than foisting ads on us. Oh...maybe it's because I really don't want to watch tv on my cell phone? Yeah...I guess they have to recoup the development costs somehow for the past couple years of wasted R&D budget. I want a phone...maybe with texting...maybe with a basic interface to read text emails. But that's it. I don't need a camera, video capture, tv/video playback...they can keep all that. They'll only get this message when customers quit their service due to the spam ads, though. They don't think we will? Just wait...some 3rd party will provide cell service that meets people's needs but doesn't spam ad people and will steal all the Bigs' customers. Then they can cry over their spilt milk. And we will party and rejoice, because for once the people will have stuck it to the greedy CEOs. - Posted by: techboy_z Posted on: 09/14/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
