It's obvious. Drive down the block and see how many credit cards, Quicken files, and other private data you can find. Even work, get access to saved passwords that allow you to connect to large corporate networks via RDP, VPN, and such.

Most people have no idea that they are wide open and creating opportunities for identity theft, fraud, and digital vandalism.

You should be concerned with honoring your contract with your ISP for some of the same reasons you wouldn't crack a steering column
and drive off from a night club with a Viper. I won't even get into the economics of a cooperative society.

Mad that you must pay for Internet? Why don't you pass out sandwiches and drinks to everyone that passes by your front door? Maybe if we switch to communism WiFi can be "free".
