RoadRunner's server likes to flake out all the time, and you sometimes get >1000ms latency for lookups, and their name servers don't always update properly (after TTL of a record expires, some of their servers, not all, will simply renew the TTL rather than looking it up again)

At times I've been tempted to set up my own name server to get around the problem.
