have fios for 8 months
For regular web surfing you really only need 1meg/sec or so. However FIOS is really helpful when you download a 40Mb file in 20 seconds. The 2Mb/sec upload is noticable.

What is interresing is many sites will not transmit faster than 180Kb/sec meaning they have only a T1 line.

Just to answer another post my FIOS service is 15Mb/sec down. A "g" card can handle 50Mb/sec so a "g" card is not a limiting factor. a "b" card would be.
