- Does Verizon have FIOS in Tallahassee, FL?
-
I plan to move to an apartment during late December and I wanted to know if they have FIOS.
I tried to enter my apartment address but the online database system told me it doesn't have an address, even if I enter the correct e-mail address.
(I'm going to get off-topic here...)
I could at least contact Verizon via phone but I'm hearing impaired... but I don't really think it may mean "it's not deaf-friendly" or not... Plus, I may not be sure if Verizon will accept "relay" calls (like taking the place of me and respond back to me for response from Verizon) since I'd use relay service via "My IP Relay" (www.ip-relay.com). What I mean by "not accept relay calls" is Verizon may think it's a Nigeran scam call, comming from Nigerians, and that happens to a whole lot of businesses in USA. As far as I know, most of the Internet Relay centers have blocked the IP addresses from Nigerians to help reduce scam calls to businesses...
(I'm now back on-topic.)
Verizon FIOS seems to be a good choice as an alternative to Comcast and I don't want to pay $70+ for a digital cable, plus $40 for a modem. That's $110, plus tax. Add in HDTV programming and a $6 rent for a cable box and that's up to $121+!
I would love to go with Dish Network but most landlords may not accept satellite dish for apartments, but I can't be sure. Well it's true that Comcast can offer the discount for those who are living in an apartment with most other renters with Comcast, but I still won't go with Comcast. With $40 for DishHD and $30 from Verizon DSL that I'm going with, that will cost up to $70 plus tax. Well, that's okay for 10 months, since this would save me like $100 for 10 months.
However I do have a question. Does FIOS combines Internet and digital cable TV service? Or do I have to subscribe with FIOS and DishHD seperately (just like I have to subscribe to DishHD and Verizon DSL)? - Posted by: Grayson Peddie Posted on: 08/01/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
