No, his roads are not million times better (obviously). Once he pays 7.5 billion dollars, how much has he left? Oh, about 42.5 billion!! If I pay 7,5 thousand dollars, well I have 42.5 thousand left. That means a little less than 3.5k per month. I can barely pay my rent with that money. I cannot feed my family with the rest of it. This 'flat tax' math is so wrong on so many levels that it is just amazing how many (incidentally, mostly obscenely rich people) continue to float it around. The Americans haven't really invented the weel (i.e. taxation). There is a large world out there. Many of those places don't have legal bribery like here (i.e. lobbying), or have much stricter laws limiting lobbying. Yet, pretty much all tax laws around the world use the concept of income tax brackets for taxation. There is a reason for that: it is significantly more fair than taxing everyone the same.
