- Was ATTW moved to Cingular - SUCKED
-
In my ominous journey through Cingular; there were the bright working areas and the low point customer service debacles I underwent. I joined ATTW after moving to a company where I did A LOT of traveling. The service was just fine for me and my phone is still the only one I?d ever want, even though I must one day put it in the back yard next to Pepper?my former dog.
When we were switched to Cingular, my ?local? service was improved in the Phoenix area and when traveling there wasn?t much of a difference. The only issues that arose were the out of the way places such as out-skirt towns to large cities, tall buildings/hospitals, remote locations (mom?s house)? I was starting to drop calls and loose connectivity more and more as the time went on from the switch over.
A few of my friends and co-workers dealing with similar issues (yes, that?s other people I know personally having the exact same symptoms that I was having with my cell on Cingular) told me that they went to a Cingular store and updated their SIM cards to work on the ?new network?. They too were former ATTW customers switched to Cingular. This theory was just that?a THEORY. Their phones never really improved?and when I attempted the same thing; I was told that Cingular no longer supports ATTW phones and I must purchase a new phone.
I called customer care for Cingular who squashed the above comments form the store clerk and that if I request a new SIM card, they should provide me with one. I attempted to get a new SIM from another location and was met with differing excuses but the same ??the only real fix is to get a new Cingular phone because this doesn?t work.?
I like my phone?didn?t want to trade it for a cheap (or overly priced) Cingular model and a new plan that would be fewer minutes while more expensive. I started to research other Wireless companies and online readings?friends. Not too many differences when you start asking around. I am happy with my traveling service as it?s compatible with the coverage I had at ATTW?but I get more and more dropped calls or service interruptions as time goes on which I didn?t deal with as an ATTW customer.
All the friends/co-workers with similar issues have moved over to Cingular and paid the fee to cutover OR have change providers all together. I hope Cingular is hurt badly before the final days of this trail but it may just be wishful thinking. They are not a customer serving organization and they do not hold up to their part of their contracts. - Posted by: beejinx Posted on: 07/20/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
