There tech support is fine.. have you EVER called?
Last time i called was over a year ago. I had to get them to update my line frequency so it could support my home alarm system. Yes it did take about 20 minutes to get through to support, but ive spent longer calling dell. It was also an american who answered and he was able to fix the line in about 5 minutes.

The actual setup of the router took me longer because i didnt want the router they gave me as my primary router. I had to setup a DMZ to the router they gave me in my wireless router in order for the phone service to work. I have alot of custom configuration on my main router and didnt want to deal with not being able to upgrade the firmware, etc.

If i was an ordinary customer, i would just hook the router into the cable modem, power it up, plug a phone line (or my main house connector) into the phone jack on the router and i would be done. If that didnt work you just power everything off and then back on again.
