Same Meal Deal As Enron
If net neutrality is lost then Enron's conspiracy with BlockBuster to duplicate the wrong doing it did involving leasing of energy pipes lives on under the names of other corporations.

Come on. Were the last few days of Lay's trial not material? Enron was attempting to tie up bandwidth through leases involving Blockbuster that preserved capacity for on-demand films. This was the next big thing for the company. Enron's collaps almost distroyed Blockbuster as well. Now I wonder if the fire of consumer rip off was kept burning there.

Do not allow leased capacity unless there is ligitimate actual use and not just the potential of use. Law makers must know that US citizens view this fiber as a commons. It has already been nationalized. They risk much by mucking around with it.

Case in point. Most use the Internet to check on traffic conditions and Weather and to assist with medical issues. This is not just a MySpace community. With Google determinining that ever millisecond of delay results in customer dissatisfaction you can see why Microsoft's MSN had so much trouble against Compuserve back in the day.

Compuserve owned the pipes. Hence it was always faster. When AOl purchased Compuserve the customers went to AOL but the pipes went to Microsoft. Microsoft's service would never have gotten where it is today with out that.

There is nothing preventing a service from laying its own fiber that is not part of the commons.
