Offering an alternative...
...is not the same thing as trying to demand that you use it. If you like Windows or Office or any other Microsoft product, okay, fine. De gustibus non est disputandum. If you think Linux is unstable and insecure, has no direction, is run by a dictatorship, and is peopled by boors, well, I disagree with you, but you're entitled to your opinion.

As to Linux "taking over the world" and "dooming Microsoft," I guess it's a bit of a backlash, but I promise you that those of us actually involved in Linux development don't generally think that way. We do live with the daily, if low-level, fear that Redmond will, as they've apparently expressed an interest in doing, doom our efforts--and since Microsoft has in a very real sense "taken over the [computing] world," our fears are not unfounded.

I just do wish you'd stop espousing the destruction of my OS of choice, my apps of choice, effectively demanding that I accept your preferences.
