Get rich quick schemes never work for most people. But investing is not really about making money as much as it's about allowing your saving to grow as the market grows.
I have investments. Sure it looks like they've doubled, almost tripled but one problem. $100,000 invested in the 80s maybe $280,000 today. But I can buy about the same thing today with $280,000 that I could with $100,000 back some 18 years ago.
