Delusions of grandeur
Sure, Visto won this one. If they continue to prevail, they will then claim they helped to invent wireless email and that they *own* the concept.

Given Visto's greed, it's fair to say that if they were the ones who patented the internet protocols, there would be no internet as we know it today. It's important to recognize here that Visto is not in favor of innovation, unless they own it.

They are content to screw the rest of us over for their software "patents." The basis? Bad patents.

Does Visto make anything, anything at all of value besides lawsuits? Probably not.

And they are working hard at devaluing the work of others to make it useless. Witness their claim that Blackberries should not be sold. That's what they want, eh? Talk about supporting innovation.

Consider this: the construction industry is run on open standards. They allow for consistent creation and reproduction of buildings we work in and live in. The only variation between competitors is their level of service.

So don't expect good service from Visto. They can rest on their laurels with their patents and watch the checks come in. Most people who get patents think this is what they're supposed to do.
