Respectfully don't get your hopes up about the "companies"
Keep in mind unlicensed generally refers to the consumer end. A cell phone user is unlicensed but, the service provider is licensed to use the spectrum. Fact is that's how it is on current wireless broad band service. On the surface it sounds like a bill to benifit the consumer, but I have no doubts "companies" are behind it for profit reasons. Where the RF spectrum is regulated in the US and the US is a member of the ITU and AFSIK still adheres to international treaty, some of the interferance concerns mention elsewhere may be a moot point.
