Subscription versus purchase
Yes, I know that's how the subscription model DRM works, the
question is, what happens to the songs you've actually
purchased?

If you're a subscriber and they go under, you're left with
bupkiss, all your carefully crafted playlists are history, all the
money you've spent on rent is now gone.

But what if you've purchased songs from Napster, for 99 cents
each, with the rights to burn cds? Sure, you can re-rip from a
burned copy, but you're already starting with a lower sound
quality file, then transcoding it twice. Can you take your
purchased music file and move it to another computer without
authorizing that computer with Napster (who will no longer
exist)?
